Poor Baby Sloan
We recently had to take Sloan to Childrens Mercy for a perianal abscess, basically an infection inside his rectum. I know doesn't sound pleasant. The doctor said it is just one of those weird things that happens and there's no explanation for it or anyway to prevent it. We also had another scare while we were there. We were getting ready to go home on monday when the nurse came in and said his blood work showed a staph infection in his blood. Basically that meant we had a VERY sick little baby and we might have been looking at two more weeks in the hospital!! Of coarse I had a break down, I had to call every one back and tell them the new news. They had to take another sample, which was very stressful because it took FIVE tries to get his IV in, so I wasn't looking forward to him being stuck again but the nurses did awesome and it went great! So then we waited and the next day they said the new blood sample came back and it was clear!! Yeah! Some one had contaminated the first sample, great news for us. So now we're home and he's doing great! It won't be all better for a while but it's getting there. Thanks for all your love and prayers!!
Here are some pics of our hospital stay. He is such a good baby!

Daddy and Baby Sloan

Just a swinggin'.Who put this toy here, I LOVE IT!

Baby Sloan and Daddy, very tired boys!

Poor baby had an IV and splint on his arm. It really annoyed him that he couldn't get his arm to his face.

Our good friends Michele and Doug were soo supportive. They stayed with us until almost midnight when we were admitted and they came back on sunday and monday and brought us dinner. They are the best adopted aunt and uncle!

Mommy and baby Sloan just having some bonding time.

This is a really cool light in our room. Childrens Mercy is an amazing hospital. They do all they can to make the kids feel safe and have fun.

Such a happy baby even when everyone is poking at his poor little butt.
Big brother looks quit bored doesn't he!?!

We found the cartoon channel.
Grandma came to help with big brother. Thanks Grandma!
All of our family was very supportive and willing to help. We love you all and appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Grandma and baby sore bottom!
Look at his poor little arm. It was soo sad to see him try and move it.
